Orange Chicken-我的最爱!( My favorite!)

I am all about the occasional take out meal. Luckily there is a nearby Chinese restaurant. My favorite meal to buy is the Orange Chicken. It is made with chopped, battered and then friend pieces of chicken that is coated in a sweet orange-flavored chili sauce. The sauce orange chickeneventual thickens and caramelizes into a glaze. Although there is a variation of the dish, that is often more similar to General Tso’s Chicken rather than the dish found in the mainland of China. Orange chicken gets its name because of the sauce it is made with but additionally there is often dried orange peel that is included as a garnish to the dish. Orange chicken is served as a main dish, usually on a bed or rice. It is thought that the original region or state the orange chicken was first introduced was in Hunan, which is in Northern China. Orange chicken has become more Americanized. It is even being sold as a fast food menu item at restaurants like Panda Express or Tokyo Joe’s. Maybe one day I’ll make it to China to really taste what the traditional Orange chicken tastes like!
